QOF workload planning

Turn outstanding QOF work into a practical plan.

See the work behind the totals. AegisRX helps GP teams organise QOF-related care, record checks and follow-up alongside wider patient recall, using pharmacist-supported EMIS searches.

Separate the kinds of work still to do

An outstanding item may need a patient review, a test, a clinical decision or a check of what has already been recorded. Those jobs need different people and different amounts of time. AegisRX helps your practice turn the agreed searches into worklists and a report you can review together.

  • Clinical work: care, tests, observations and decisions that still need to happen.
  • Record checks: confirmation that relevant information is current and recorded appropriately.
  • Follow-up: invitations, replies, non-response and the next action under your local process.

A missing code is not proof that care was missed; a code alone does not establish that the right care was delivered. Check the record and the patient's circumstances before acting.

Build a plan by month and by role

  1. Agree the search scope. Our pharmacists run the agreed read-only EMIS Web searches weekly or monthly. Confirm which QOF-related work and reporting your practice needs.
  2. Review the outstanding lists. Confirm the clinical priority and distinguish care from record-checking tasks. Check the current requirements for the relevant contract year.
  3. Combine suitable recall work. Look across the patient's requirements, while respecting test timing, clinical urgency and the patient's preferences.
  4. Allocate realistic work. Plan invitations, clinic activity, clinical review and coding against the people and sessions available.
  5. Check recorded progress. Review the next extract, reconcile apparent gaps and revise the remaining work rather than assuming an invitation means completion.

See how capacity planning makes the assumptions explicit, including why a combined visit does not remove the work involved.

Use current guidance and clinical judgement

QOF requirements are specific to the relevant contract year. Use NHS England's QOF guidance and applicable local arrangements when deciding what is required and how it should be recorded. This service page does not reproduce indicator rules, thresholds or payment calculations.

Clinical prioritisation and any personalised care adjustment need an appropriate decision and supporting record. AegisRX does not automatically apply adjustments, submit claims or write codes into EMIS.

The service supports organising the work. It does not guarantee QOF achievement, additional income, compliance or a particular clinical outcome. Confirm completion and any contractual submission through your usual practice process.

Bring the operational questions into view

A useful discussion starts with the lists your team already uses, the work that repeatedly carries forward and the people who own each step. Agree who validates the findings, who acts and how the next search will be reconciled.

The broader practice report can put QOF-related work alongside medicines monitoring and recall demand. Its published figures are labelled worked examples, not evidence of results achieved by a customer practice.

The first step

Request your practice snapshot.

We’ll discuss your practice’s needs and agree the scope before work begins.

AegisRX is a recall and reporting tool. It counts and lists from your own records; every clinical decision is made by a clinician. The snapshot is not a statement of CQC compliance. Benefits depend on each practice and are not guaranteed. Prices exclude VAT.
